This extremely handsome Kashmir silk rug has a garden pattern influenced by the Persian rugs of the Qum region. The field consists of a lattice of garden pattern in which the dividing lines symbolize irrigation channels with trees and flowers growing in the squares between. There are a total of 228 squares with 9 distinct designs/patterns. The squares have various floral designs, Mir-ibotha pattern, cypresses, weeping willows as well as flower vase design and stylized floral prayer arches. The inner guard as well as the outer stripe has small flowers connected by delicate shoots. The central stripe frames the garden very elegantly by a Mina-khani design.
